Once we got to Gilroy, Matt dove into a project that my mom and dad had been planning. He built a square foot garden for them to potter around with.

Happy Birthday, Melia!

Melia spent her birthday in Iraq! We were thinking of her!
I hear she will be coming home around June 1! Yeah!

Coastal Walk in Monterey

By the time we got to Monterey, we had ridden bikes and ATVs along the coastline, so we decided it was time for a good old fashioned walk!

Riding ATVs at Pismo Beach

I am sure there are way too many pictures of us riding ATVs at Pismo beach, but it was stunningly beautiful and thrilling as well, so I just can't help it!

Bike ride from Mission Bay to La Jolla!

Matt and I rented bikes at Mission Bay (in San Diego) and rode up the coastline to La Jolla cove. It was beautiful although we got rained on towards the end. It was a warm rain, so even that was fun!

7.2 Earthquake

We were 50 miles away from the epicenter of a 7.2 earthquake. It was almost a whole minute long - which is a really long eathquake! Also, we were on a pier eating dinner, so the whole experience was pretty incredible - a shaking pier, huge restaurant plate glass windows between us and the only way off the pier, and restaurant patrons leaving by the droves while we were "stranded". Wow!

London Bridgeat Lake Havasu

Having lived in Britain, we just couldn't pass up the chance to go see the original London Bridge in its new home in Lake Havasu, Arizona. It was a weird juxtaposition.....but fun to see!
