Our close friend Dave Widauf passed away suddenly. It has been really hard on Matt who spent a lot of time with Dave. Matt was honored to be asked to dedicate the grave. We saw Margaret and Jay Hicken at the funeral - Dave was a professor at Utah State in the same department with Uncle Jay, so they had known each other for many years as well. I had never been to a military burial before - it was both comber and touching.
My Mother's Day gift just keeps on giving as the blooms get more colorful, more plentiful, and of a bigger variety!
It's hard to believe how much they grew over the weekend! Pretty blossoms too! They are happy in the window sill, I think!
These happy looking "Fleurs" were delivered to me in my classroom with a note that read "Awesome mothers grow awesome daughters. We love you! " It made my day and my students got a kick out of it too. I decided to leave them at school since they look so happy on this window sill. The kids and I are anxious to see them bloom! Happy mother's day to all!
My class did a May Pole dance to celebrate May Day. There are lots more pictures on my class blog. Check them out! (Let me know if you need an invitation since it is a private blog.)
